Resin or tarmac driveways

Resin-bound paving is a mixture of aggregate stones and resin that we can use to pave your footpaths and driveways. It is a permeable paving solution that is flexible and resistant to cracking.

The resin-bound system is mixed on the site of the supplier by using a high-quality and UV resistant resin binder that coats the aggregate particles prior to us them laying them for your driveway. Our resin-bound system is much different and shouldn’t be confused with resin-bonded surfacing which can become loose over time and is in fact, impermeable. The resin and aggregate are mixed prior to laying ensuring a totally bound surface that is more durable and requires less maintenance. The maintenance for this driveway required is simply to be swept or power washed at least twice a year to avoid and prevent the build up of moss growth and algae.

Resin bound driveways are an increasingly popular alternative to traditional tarmac or block paving driveways as they are well known for their extremely hard wearing and permeable surface allowing rain water to drain through making them ideal for driveways and improved access for wheelchair users.

Benefits

  • A modern and stunning choice for your driveway
  • Free drainage properties
  • Quick installation
  • Easy and minimal maintenance
  • Anti-Slip surface

Available in a wide range of attractive colours and finishes, a resin-bound driveway is sure to give a stunning first impression of your home.

Tarmac Driveways

Tarmac, short for tarmacadam, is created with a layer of crushed aggregate or stone and is then coated and mixed with tar. The mixture is then laid and compacted with a vibrating roller to help form a smooth and durable surface.

The strong and durable surface of tarmac is exceptionally resilient for heavy vehicles which is why it is often and most commonly used for driveways and roads. Tarmac is the perfect choice if you have a larger family with a lot of cars or you own a commercial property that is subject to a lot of traffic coming in and out of the driveway. If this is the case, then you will require a material such as tarmac that will not get damaged easily or crack under pressure.

As well as being incredibly weather resistant, tarmac is long-lasting and exceptionally weather resistant whether you live in an area with heavy rain or somewhere that is often warmer, tarmac is a reliable and traditional material that can withstand multiple conditions. In terms of accessibility, tarmac retains its grip in adverse weather conditions, so tarmacking is still a viable and cost-effective option for wheelchair users and prams without the worry of slips, trips and falls.

Easy to install and perfect for those who want a simple driveway. Tarmac can be laid in almost no time at all. Laid as a hot liquid, once applied, it must be allowed to cool so the particles within the tarmac can bind together effectively. This material can be laid directly on top of existing surfaces most of the time, making tarmac an easy and simple option compared to other surfacing materials. This durable material is also readily available in multiple colours and be used as part of a design that incorporates block paving.

Benefits

  • Highly weather resistant
  • Cost-effective
  • Quick to install
  • Simple and tasteful option
  • Hard lasting material
