Victorian Conservatories

The Victorian Conservatory is the most popular style of conservatory, and it suits all styles of house and home whether you own a period property or a newer build. When people are thinking of a conservatory it is the Victorian style that usually comes to mind.

Sometimes referred to as Victorian sun-rooms, Victorian Conservatories have a timeless, classic feel with their ornate high roofs and rounded appearance, which will not only complement period style homes, but also makes a sophisticated statement on more modern homes.

These stunning conservatories boast a chic, semi-octagonal exterior that’s suggestive of period designs. The curved front windows allow a complete view of your garden, so it makes them especially beneficial if you wish to use your additional living space for relaxing and enjoying your outdoor space.

The structure of these stunning conservatories can be constructed in uPVC, timber, or aluminium, all of which vary in price and depend on your requirements but all of which are durable, efficient, and long-lasting.

It’s common place to see Victorian conservatories that make use of brickwork and dwarf walls, these walls particularly suit this design. However, if you do not like the thought of exposed brick work, we can use a render coat and paint the surface a colour of your choice or alternatively, we can fit uPVC or composite panels as an option to a solid wall.

When deciding which conservatory is right for you, it is important to consider the type of roofing you wish to have installed. A Victorian conservatory roof has many sides and is steeply sloped, this is a significant visual feature to this design. On installation of your conservatory roof, we ensure that it is fully glazed and has exceptional thermal properties that allow it to be its most effective in temperature management and energy efficiency as opposed to most older conservatories which still feature a polycarbonate or glass roof in need of replacement.

Whichever design you choose, we will ensure that your conservatory is built to last.

Edwardian Conservatories

The Edwardian Conservatory is one of the three types of designs known as ‘period conservatories’ with its name stemming from the King or Queen who reigned at the time they were initially constructed. The Edwardian Conservatory has been labelled as a follow up to the Victorian conservatory style. With its much more clean and basic design it could be seen as rebelling against the extravagant design and décor of the Victorian conservatory. The aim of the Edwardian Conservatory is to provide an added living space with clean lines and simple shape that allows lots of natural light in.

Our Edwardian Conservatories boast an elegant, contemporary design suitable for most modern homes whilst remaining sophisticated in its appearance without the extra ornamentation of the Victorian Conservatory, designed in square or rectangular shapes. The simple shape is reflected in its roofing style which is the opposite of the Victorian design with the aim being to keep ornate detailing to a minimum with plain glass side walls whilst still providing you with a clear view of your garden. The only time this design will change is if you opt for us to install a dwarf wall instead of the plain glass side panels.

Edwardian conservatory roofing is pitched and often made up of 3 sections sloping upwards, meeting at a decorative centre ridge. Dependent on your personal preferences and design option, we can install a four-sided pitched roof.
